Cancer Voices

Our service has an advisory panel made up of people who are living with cancer, have experienced cancer in the past or care/have cared for someone with cancer, the Cancer Voices.

The Cancer Voices inform, advise and support the Dundee Macmillan Improving the Cancer Journey so that the experiences and needs of people with cancer, their carers and families are at the heart of everything we do.

The group’s objectives are to:

  • Ensure that the views and opinions of people affected by cancer are embedded within and used to inform and shape the project.
  • Shape, influence and develop all aspects of the project.
  • Support promotion of and engagement with the Dundee Macmillan Improving the Cancer Journey across all stakeholders.

We are always looking for friendly and passionate volunteers in the city to join our existing Voices help us shape the direction, development and delivery of the service. This would suit you if you:

  • Have/had a cancer diagnosis or cares/has cared for someone with cancer.
  • Enjoy being part of a team.
  • Are enthusiastic about improving local cancer care and services.
  • Have good communication and organisational skills.
  • Are comfortable with decision-making.

There are also other ways to get involved if being part of formal group is not for you

Shape our communications

We want to talk about the project in a way that reflects what it’s like to have cancer in Dundee. We're always looking for people to review our materials and activities, and tell us what they think.  You could be providing input to promotional material, information, forms, adverts, case studies – the list goes on!

Help us learn

If you’re willing to take part in future surveys or research about your cancer experience or how we might improve, grow and develop the service, this is the option for you.

Keep in touch

If getting more involved isn’t for you at this stage, you can simply choose to keep up to date with our progress through regular newsletters and updates, hear about more opportunities to get involved and future events.  Please tell us how you’d like to receive this (by email or post) and how often you’d like to hear from us i.e. monthly, quarterly etc
