Living Life Well and Living Life Your Way in Dundee- A Strategic Plan for Supporting Adults with a Learning Disability and adults with a Learning Disability and Autism

Earlier this year Dundee Integration Joint Board agreed Strategic Plan for Supporting Adults with a Learning Disability and Adults with a Learning Disability and Autism in Dundee.

The Plan is called ‘Living Life Well and Living Life Your Way in Dundee’.  People, agencies and other partners across Dundee and Tayside were involved in the development of the Plan. The vision for the plan was developed by the Advocators at Advocating Together, Dundee after hearing from their peers, family members and carers and the workforce.

This is the Vision

Everyone will get help to live well

Everyone will have good places to live in

People will be able to use local shops in friendly communities

Everyone will be friendly

Everyone will look after each other

Everyone will have good relationships

Everyone will be able to have a social life

Everyone will have chances to share their talents

The Plan will inform actions over the next 5 years and work is already taking place to make sure that the vision is realised for all Dundee citizens impacted by a Learning Disability.

Arlene Mitchell is a Locality Manager who is responsible for the plan.
