Dundee HSCP Community Meals

Our Community Meals service, delivered in partnership with Tayside Contract Tay Cuisine by Tayside Contracts, provides tasty, nutritious hot or cold meals to individuals who are unable to prepare food for themselves, either short-term or long-term.

Each two-course, high-quality meal is delivered directly to your door by our friendly and reliable drivers, who can also plate your meal if required and report any concerns. All meals are prepared using quality ingredients and help support service users in maintaining their independence.

Who Can Use the Community Meals Service?

While specific eligibility criteria apply, the service is available to a wide range of people living in their own homes.
It offers a balanced diet and may support those recently discharged from hospital or anyone who needs meals to supplement what they can prepare themselves.

You can access Community Meals if you are:

  • An older adult
  • An adult with a disability
  • Someone living with a chronic illness, mental health condition, or dementia

 

Meal Options

We offer a four-week menu cycle for lunches and teas, updated annually. Community Meals 26-27

Each day includes:

  • Soup
  • A choice of three hot main course options (including a vegetarian option)
  • A cold choice such as a salad or sandwich
  • Dessert

Our meals are prepared locally and designed to reflect the preferences and dietary needs of older adults.

 

Dietary Requirements

Texture-modified meals (IDDSI levels 4, 5, and 6) can be provided upon request from a medical professional such as a Dietitian or Speech and Language Therapist.

When Are Meals Delivered?

Meals are delivered every day—including Christmas Day and New Year's Day—typically between 11:30am and 1:30pm and 3.30pm - 6pm 

Please note:

  • Deliveries may occasionally be delayed due to severe weather or traffic, which is out with our control.
  • Meals are delivered directly to your home and served hot when applicable.
  • Meals arrive in containers that can be transferred to your own crockery.
  • In line with Food Hygiene regulations, we cannot leave meals at your property or with a neighbour if you are not at home.

Cost

The cost of a two-course meal is 2026 – 2027 £6.10

 

How to Request Community Meals

We require 24 hour notice to begin meal deliveries. 

You will be invoiced monthly for the meals you receive.
