The Dundee Youth Housing Options project provides housing options services specifically designed to meet the needs of people aged 16-25 years. The main aim of the project is to reduce the threat of homelessness for young adults before it reaches a point of crisis.

The project has adopted a person-centred, co-productive approach, meaning that assessments and outcomes will be carried out and designed in collaboration with young adults. The team members in the project work in partnership with young adults and their families for a truly personalised approach. The project also provides opportunities for young adults to become involved in social, physical, and educational activities designed to enhance their wellbeing.

The project operates as a drop-in service with no appointments required. This allows for the greatest possible flexibility of attending to the needs of young people.

The project addresses the following priorities

  • Reduce the threat of homelessness in young adults ages 16-25
  • Reduce the number of young adults sleeping in unsafe places
  • Ensure young adults receive advice, support, and access to appropriate services when required
  • Provide conflict reduction services, supporting young adults to remain with their family
  • Provide safe accommodation options as required
  • Support access to mainstream services such as employment, education, training, and leisure
